Everton under-21s manager Paul Tait has stated the reason that Reece Welch and Stanley Mills both missed their win over Dinamo Zagreb this week.

The young Toffees were impressive as they managed a 2-0 win in the Premier League International Cup.

They are now through to the knockout rounds of the competition thanks to Francis Okoronkwo and Katia Kouyate goals.

It appears Welch and Mills are training with the first team.

Tait told Liverpool Echo: “They are with the first-team, both of them."

There is no suggestion as to whether either player will be involved in manager Sean Dyche's matchday squad for their next Premier League game.
