Everton have opened talks with Southampton for Che Adams.

BBC Sport says Everton are seeking to sign the Scotland international for £12m.

Adams has scored twice in three Championship games so far this season.

Everton boss Sean Dyche has made it no secret his squad lacks firepower and a new striker signing has been a priority this summer.

The Toffees has so far brought in Ashley Young, Arnaut Danjuma, Jack Harrison and teenage striker Youssef Chermiti from Sporting Lisbon.
