Everton are moving to beat Swansea City to the signing of Las Palmas midfielder Jonathan Viera.
Everton are set to pay the €30 million release clause of Viera.
It would be the second big blow for Swansea delivered by Everton, as the south Wales club were pursuing Viera and allegedly had a £25 million turned down.
The Swans were reportedly looking at bringing in the 27-year-old as a replacement for Gylfi Sigurdsson, who is linked with a move to Everton.
Marca say that Everton are keen to secure a deal for Viera - but it is thought that they are maintaining their interest in Sigurdsson.
