Everton midfielder James Garner was delighted after their 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest.
Dwight McNeil struck for the 1-0 victory.
Garner said: “We've had a good performance away from home – they're a good side. It's good to get the three points.
“It was tough. We knew it was going to be a battle and I think we came out on top, in attack and defence. We definitely deserved the three points.
“We're performing better away than we are at home. We need to change our form at home and hopefully that comes in the next few games.
“We've had a difficult few weeks, but we stuck to our task."
On McNeil's goal, he added: “He does that in training every day, so it's about time he gets one [in a game]!
“He works hard every day in training. Hopefully he gets a few more now."
