Everton hero Ball: Finally Richarlison being protected

Former Everton fullback Michael Ball is happy to see Richarlison granted some protection in Saturday's win at Leicester City.

Some at Leicester have accused Richarlison of play-acting during the game.

But Ball wrote for the Liverpool Echo: "The amount of times this season Richarlison in particular has been kicked and hacked is unbelievable, which is why it grates when you're hearing the likes of Paul Ince saying he tried to 'con' the referee.

"I don't know what he was watching, and it's obvious he hasn't been studying Everton performances of late. Every game players are trying to get at him.

"Ok yes he made the most of it but Morgan kicked his foot, and he's jumped in the air to show the referee “Look, this is what's happened to me time and time again."

"He ran an experienced centre-half ragged so it just shows his credentials to be our No.9. It's about time the referees protected him."
