Everton have received fresh encouragement in their bid for Ajax midfielder Riechedly Bazoer.
Bazoer has verbally agreed a move with VfL Wolfsburg, though it was claimed this week Everton and Juventus were making late attempts to trump the Germans.
And further fueling the talk was yesterday's sacking of VfL sports chief Klaus Allofs, a decision which could influence the deal for Bazoer.
Everton and Juve have been in contact with Ajax about meeting their €12 million valuation for the midfielder.
But while Wolfsburg are in upheaval, it's claimed Bazoer's priority remains the Bundesliga giants.
