Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Antolin Alcaraz will be sidelined for some time with a shoulder injury.
The Paraguayan defender suffered the problem when colliding with Wilfried Bony in the weekend's 0-0 draw with Swansea City and may now require surgery which will keep him out of action for as many as 12 weeks.
"We lost Antolin at the weekend," said Martinez ahead of Thursday night's Europa League meeting with Lille.
"He has dislocated the AC joint on his shoulder and will be out for a while.
"It is difficult, because the decision now is if he needs surgery or not.
"It is a decision we are going to measure well and make the right call.
"Between six and 12 weeks, depending on the route we are taking."
