Former Everton assistant manager Erwin Koeman says the it was a "privilege" to work at Goodison Park.
Erwin worked with brother Ronald Koeman at Everton.
He told the Liverpool Echo: “I was disappointed in the second season that we had to leave the club but I liked my time at Everton very much.
“I lived in the city centre and liked it a lot, I liked the people and I am still in touch with Tony and Jimmy the kitmen. It was a privilege to work there.
“I think we should have been given more time and I think the club was in a little bit of a panic but this kind of decision will be made..
“It was a difficult period, for sure in September and October and we had a very difficult start of the season. It was not easy but I am not blaming the club because they had to do, what they had to do and do what is best for the club."
