England coach Roy Hodgson insists Tottenham striker Harry Kane will be no flash-in-the-pan.

Kane scored on debut in their Euro 2016 qualifying win over Lithuania.

"I'm delighted for Harry Kane," Hodgson said.

"There's been a lot of pressure and a lot of hype if you like around him, his name and his performances. And it's fantastic for him. In that period of time when he came on his first touch of the ball he makes a good run to the back post and [Raheem] Sterling produces a bit of magic and it was a good goal so it's been a great week and we've been delighted to have him and let's hope this is the start of a long career for him."
