England boss Hodgson warns Tottenham ace Alli he is not 'finished article'

England boss Roy Hodgson has heaped praise on Tottenham youngster Dele Alli following his impressive performance in the 3-2 win over Germany.

The Three Lions manager was delighted with the way Alli performed in Berlin on Saturday but believes that there is still a lot to come from the 19-year-old if he can keep his feet grounded.

"You could argue that France at home is a little bit less daunting than Germany away," said Hodgson ahead of Tuesday's meeting with the Dutch at Wembley.

"At the moment all you can see with Dele Alli is a very, very bright future.

"It's up to him and his club and he has to make certain that he doesn't think, 'I am the complete and finished article'.

"You can't be the complete and finished article at 19 years of age. Not if we are talking about winning tournaments, or doing well in major tournaments. You need more need experience and a few more games behind you.

"I'm not trying to detract at all from his performance. He was excellent from the first minute to the last, and he is getting a lot of praise, and I hope he enjoys it because it is truly deserved."
