Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane has joined Swansea City on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The Republic of Ireland international midfielder has made four Premier League appearances for Aston Villa this term, including three starts, and scored in the 3-0 victory at Fulham towards the end of September.

Hourihane links up with a Swans side currently occupying second place in the Championship and challenging for promotion.

Villa boss Dean Smith said: “Conor is never happy when he's not playing and we have respected his desire to go on loan to Swansea to play football games and to help them in their push for promotion.

“It's a loan until the end of the season which gets him back in the heart of a promotion chase and playing regular football."
