CSKA Moscow's Honda not about to leave Russia

CSKA Moscow striker Keisuke Honda will not be departing the Russian Premier League club this winter according to his representatives.

An agent working for Honda, Kees Ploegsma, told Qatari media that the Japan international was considering his future as interest from big clubs in Europe continues to come.

But Sports Entertainment Group issued a statement to skysports.com saying that Hodna is focusing on the Asian Cup with the Blue Samurai and is not about to exit Moscow.

"Having read recent false reports attributed to the player's agent Kees Ploesgma, we would like to make it clear that Keisuke Honda is happy at CSKA Moscow and we have had no firm enquiries about the player," the statement read. "Like many players, he has aspirations to play in Spain or England at some point in his career. But so far we are in the dark about constant press speculation linking him with three Premier League clubs and now Atletico Madrid.

"Honda is currently concentrating on helping Japan win the Asian Cup and so there is nothing to discuss.

"We do have contact with all the big clubs in Europe, and we don't only discuss Honda but our other players too.

"If something was to happen, our colleague in England, Carl Thomas, would know of any firm interest."
