Crystal Palace boss Hodgson: Everton very different with fit Calvert-Lewin

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson admits they must wary facing Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin today.

Hodgson admits a fit Calvert-Lewin makes the difference for Everton.

He said, "How are we going to negate him? We're going to play well, we hope. We're going to be very strong defensively, like we've been in at least five of our games this year where we've not conceded a goal. And we're going to respect him because he's a very, very good player and I think he's done exceptionally well since he's come back in.

“I'm pretty sure that Sean Dyche will be saying the same about him as I'm mentioning now with regard to [Ebere] Eze and [Michael] Olise. That when you have players of that quality, they make one hell of a difference to your team because they pose a threat that when they're not playing, it's hard for you to reproduce.

“Because those types of quality players don't grow on trees and they're not always available for teams like ourselves because of the enormous price they cost or the value that they have in the transfer market.

“But it's not just Calvert-Lewin. If it was very simple, that Everton were a very poor side except for one player, then things would be a lot easier. He's one good player amongst many and he's a player that all teams, we certainly included, will have to fear because he's capable of scoring the goal which can win them the game."
