Sky Sports is reporting that Newcastle skipper Fabricio Coloccini has not handed in a formal transfer request to leave the North East for personal reasons. Reports had claimed that the 30-year-old Argentine was looking to leave the Magpies this month.
His father, who works at one of his former clubs San Lorenzo, also told Argentine TV earlier this month that his son was indeed looking to return to South America.
However, Sky Sports sources understand that Newcastle have not received a formal request from their captain - although they believe he may want to leave.
