Chivas signs Honduras international Chavez, sends Moore to Toronto

Chivas USA have confirmed the acquisition of Honduras international Marvin Chavez from Colorado Rapids.

The 30-year old winger heads to California in exchange for striker Luke Moore, who was on-traded to Toronto FC, and the Rapids' conditional second round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft.

Chavez arrived in Colorado from San Jose Earthquakes ahead of the 2014 MLS season but managed just two substitute appearances for the Denver outfit.

In addition, Chivas have signed Ryan Finley from Columbus Crew in exchange for another draft pick.

"We are very happy to add Marvin Chavez and Ryan Finley to our club as they will immediately bolster our attack," said Chivas USA head coach Wilmer Cabrera.

"Chavez is one of the best wide midfielders in the League and is very versatile at creating scoring opportunities. Finley will fit perfectly in our plan as a center forward, as his mobility and approach to the game will support and complement Erick Torres' skills up top."

Former Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City forward Moore joined Chivas from Turkish club Elazigspor in February but will now make Toronto his home after six appearances with the Goats.
