Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has admitted that he still has a lot of love for former club Arsenal ahead of this Sunday's Community Shield match.
Fabregas spent eight years with Arsenal, where he won the 2005 FA Cup, but having joined Chelsea understands that some Gunners fans consider it a treacherous move and will never forgive him.
"The love I have for that club will never change whatever happens and is the most important are the memories I have with me from them," said the Spaniard.
"The rest doesn't matter, I have great memories, love and respect for the club. You will never hear anything bad from me about them."
Speaking ahead of Sunday's Wembley clash with Arsenal, the Spanish midfielder is keen to win and start the season with a trophy for the Blues.
"It's a nice competition to play in – even if it is a pre-season game you still want to win," he added.
"We are not worried that they might be fresher than us, they started 10 days before, but we are competitors, we want to win and it will probably be a great game."
