Chelsea are hoping to hold contract talks with Ashley Cole whose current deal expires this summer.
The Telegraph reports that the 33-year old left-back is again in the plans of Jose Mourinho and that the Blues want to negotiate a new deal.
Cole has started just 13 times in the Premier League this season but has bounced back well recently by performing admirably in last week's Champions League semi-final first leg draw with Atletico Madrid and Sunday's 2-0 win over domestic title rivals Liverpool.
These two performances have reportedly swayed Mourinho to offer Cole a one-year contract but it remains to be seen if the 107-time England international will settle again at Stamford Bridge or look for regular game time elsewhere.
