Celta Vigo skipper Hugo Mallo admits he rejected a move to Fulham last summer.
The Celta captain and right-back was a target for the newly-promoted Premier League club ahead of Deadline Day, along with Valencia's Martin Montoya and Manchester United's Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
But Mallo opted to remain in Spain, and signed a new contract at Celta until 2023 this week.
“I knew the figures, I was going to earn at Fulham, but in life it's not all about money and my aim was to continue at Celta," he told Marca.
"That's why the deal (to sign a new contract) was so quick and easy."
