Callum Wilson 'doing triple sessions' to make early Newcastle return

Callum Wilson is desperate to return to action for Newcastle United.

The Evening Chronicle reports Wilson has been doing triple sessions in an effort to return to action as soon as possible and the Newcastle striker has vowed to do 'everything' in his power to ensure he does not have another relegation on his CV.

Wilson suffered a hamstring injury in the Magpies' 3-2 win against Southampton last month and looks set to be out for another three or four weeks.

Newcastle went 10 points clear of the relegation zone with that victory on February 6 but just three points now separate Steve Bruce's side and 18th-placed Fulham.

Newcastle have certainly missed Wilson, who has been directly involved in 55% of Newcastle's league goals this season, and the black-and-whites have yet to win a top-flight fixture in 2020-21 when their top scorer has not played.
