Burnley boss Kompany: I've always felt supported here

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany says he's always felt supported by the club.

Things are looking up a Burnley after their 5-0 rout of Sheffield United.

Kompany said: "It just shows how quickly these things can go. One minute you're talking about negative records then all of a sudden, out of nothing, you've got this.

"But the same way we dealt with the other stuff, we just move on to the next game now as it's done. The lads deserved the performance and result, and they have a belief they can do it again.

"We've put in a lot of good performances recently. We've probably not had what we thought we deserved - it's life and you don't always get what you deserve, at least immediately. We're prepared to work for it. Mentally, we're strong enough to deal with whatever comes to us."

He also said: "From my side, I've said it before so it's nothing new, it's a very calm club.

"We focus on performance and improving players we have. There is communication every day on all sorts of things but never political, always football. It's an environment where people can do their job but not one for excuses, it's a very good environment and for the players as well.

"I know it can be different elsewhere, but I'm hoping all this will be a positive journey for Burnley football club. It will be one of the things that makes the club standout again. In 141 years of history they have had about 28 managers, it's part of the DNA."
