Brighton defender Bernardo says Manchester City deserved to win 5-0 on Saturday.

A hat-trick from Raheem Sterling and further goals from Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva gave Pep Guardiola's men a convincing win.

“City deserved the win tonight and we can have no complaints," Bernardo said.

“We didn't play well, against Liverpool on Wednesday we had a good game and we were able to compete, but that wasn't the case today. They're in really good form and showed that tonight.

“Without the fans it's very difficult, once you go one or two goals down then it becomes even tougher against such a top side."
