Boyd happy Chelsea whiz Gilmour going to Euros with Scotland

Former Scotland striker Kris Boyd happy knowing Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour will be part of the Euros squad.

Boyd has praised Blues midfielder Gilmour after the teenager was called up to Scotland's Euro 2020 squad.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Scotland international believes there is a lot to come from the midfielder.

"I think it's the right thing to do, bringing the youngsters in," Boyd said. "They might be a bit inexperienced but that could help. They haven't got that pressure."

Gilmour is still uncapped for the Scotland senior side and will be appearing in the country's first major tournament since 1998.

"Gilmour must be doing well to please Roy Keane," he added. "He is a quality player, and he played a lot for the Under-21s.

"He's got himself in and around the Chelsea squad and Steve Clarke likes what he sees."
