Boost for Man City as returning skipper Kompany feels '18 again'

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany claims he feels 'as good as ever' after completing 90 minutes for the first time since November in City's 2-1 loss to Tottenham on Sunday.

Kompany has endured an injury-plagued 2015/16 campaign, with a calf problem limiting the Belgian international's influence on City's pursuit of a third Premier League title.

After a frustrating four month period, the 29-year-old said he is delighted to finally be back to full fitness.

"I've worked really hard and I feel as good as I've ever been," Kompany told Manchester City's official website.

"I was, just as much as the fans, hoping for a successful return. The positive for me is that I came through the game and apart from feeling tired in the last five minutes I felt like an 18 year old on the pitch again."
