Bolasie: An honour to play with Zaha at Crystal Palace

Everton midfielder Yannick Bolasie has paid tribute to former Crystal Palace teammate Wilfried Zaha.

Bolasie is now on-loan at Sporting CP and enjoyed some of his best football playing in tandem with Zaha.

He told Palace's website: “He was about four years younger than me, but just joking around and stuff, we naturally clicked and from then on I've been very, very, very good friends with him. He's probably one of my best friends in football.

“It's only when you go somewhere else you realise: 'Flipping hell, that just clicked naturally.' He was kind of a street footballer, I was kind of a street footballer - it worked.

“Everyone knew he had the ability and for me, seeing it first hand was like a little kick up the backside, to say: 'Hey, listen, Wilf is doing his thing. You've got to step up as well.'

“It was a great honour to play with him… It was great playing with Wilf and also credit to Palace for bringing him through and having the confidence in him after that move to bring him back home. And you can see what he's doing now - it's unbelievable stuff."
