Birmingham move for Swansea winger Wayne Routledge

Birmingham City are moving for Swansea City winger Wayne Routledge.

The Sun says new Blues boss Gianfranco Zola is looking to freshen up his squad this month as the second city outfit try to haul themselves back into the promotion play-off picture.

Blues are set to submit a bid of around £3million for the experienced winger who is open to leaving the Premier League strugglers despite making 20 appearances and scoring two goals this season.

However, Routledge could find his opportunities limited with the arrival of new boss Paul Clement who will have his own ideas of how the Swans beat the drop.

With Jacques Maghoma on African Cup of Nations duty and Greg Stewart out injured, Zola is desperate to add a wide man in the window.
