Ben Parkinson determined to grab Newcastle U21 chance

Newcastle United academy striker Ben Parkinson is experiencing the time of his life.

The youngster is making his mark for the Under-21s very recently at the St. James Park club.

The teenager impressed in an FA Youth Cup loss to Arsenal recently, while he has five goals in 11 games for the youth side as well.

Parkinson told the club's website: "Going from under-18s to under-21s football has been a positive challenge for me as the pace is much quicker and a lot more physical.

“However, I would like to think I have stepped up to that challenge and I'm really enjoying it.

"Scoring two in my last three Premier League 2 games has been a real confidence boost for me.

“I love scoring goals and it is my job at the end of the day so I just want to keep pushing forward and, hopefully, add a few more before the end of the season."
