Belgium star Hazard: I used to support France growing up

Belgium captain Eden Hazard has admitted he used to support semi-final opposition France when he was a kid.

The Chelsea ace scored two goals to help Belgium win each of their five World Cup games so far and book a semi-final clash with France in Saint Petersburg on Tuesday.

Hazard moved to Lille when he was 14 and he and his brothers used to admire the French 1998 World Cup winning side.

"With my brothers, we have always been more supporters of France than Belgium because we grew up with '98," Hazard said.

"At the time, there wasn't the jersey of Belgium, that's why we wore the one of France.

"I do not want to denigrate the Belgium team of the time, there were very good players, but at that time, it was France."
