Bayern Munich chief Dreesen: We're not saying Tuchel the lone culprit

Bayern Munich chief exec Jan-Christian Dreesen insists they're not blaming coach Thomas Tuchel solely for this season's problems.

The former Chelsea manager will leave Bayern at the end of the season.

After victory over RB Leipzig, Dreesen said: "First of all I'm very happy, we saw a reaction from the team.

"We decided together that it would be better for the team, for the club and also for him if we broke up in the summer and started over again. Amicable separation? Thomas is someone who doesn't mince his words... He said that we shouldn't just look for a culprit and we are not looking for culprits anyway.

"We simply saw that things weren't working and that's why we decided to do differently. We made the right choice. There's no need to talk about the quality of the team because there is a lot."

Dreesen also spoke about the criticism of their transfer work.

"I would like to remind you that we not only bought a world-class striker like Harry Kane, but also the best defender in Serie A, namely Min-jae Kim. So we didn't just do things bad during the summer transfer window. On the contrary: maybe we didn't get one or two players we wanted, but that doesn't mean it was a bad market."
