Atletico Madrid signing Vitolo was coy over his shock move from Sevilla.

Vitolo penned new terms with Sevilla this week - only to quit for Atletico yesterday. He will spend the first-half of the season on-loan at Las Palmas due to Atletico's summer transfer ban.

"It's been a very hard few days but in the end I have decided to be here for reasons for which I am very happy," he said.

Vitolo made the statements as he met with Las Palmas officials on Wednesday.

Las Palmas president Miguel Ramirez stated: "Vitolo is already here and we will enjoy him. We can I look forward to seeing his pairing with Jonathan Viera and reviving afternoons of glory again. We are very happy for Vitolo and for our fans."
