Atletico Madrid midfielder Axel Witsel is full of praise for Everton youngster Amadou Onana.

Onana has also stepped up for his country over the course of the current break, building on his Belgium debut which came against the Netherlands in the summer. His latest match came against the same opponents, with the Blues star getting 75 minutes before being taken off.

Witsel told DH: “It went well with him [Onana].

“Amadou is strong, generous and a good listener. He makes good runs defensively and he infiltrates well.

“He is a player who will be useful. An air of Fellaini? Yes, but Amadou is better on the ball than Marouane."
