Atletico Madrid coach Simeone happy with Espanyol point

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was happy drawing at bottom-club Espanyol on Sunday.

The visitors were behind at the RCDE Stadium before Saul's equaliser meant they took a point with them back to Madrid.

"When the matches are drawn, we're trying to take all three points," Simeone said in his post-match press conference.

"In the last few games, we've won two and drawn two.

"We're giving our best. We're hoping it brings up to compete. I always expect more when we don't win.

"We tried to change the system and it didn't go well.

"We were the most comfortable team in the first half apart from the first 10 minutes when they were more comfortable."

Alvaro Morata hasn't scored in LaLiga Santander in 2020 but Simeone has backed his striker.

"He's working like always for what the team needs," Simeone said.

"The goal isn't coming. It's what he needs. So that with his power and heading, he generates for us what he's always generated for us."
