Atletico Madrid coach Simeone finds positives in Getafe draw

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone had mixed emotions after their 1-1 draw with Getafe.

Atletico attacker Angel Correa scored on the hour before a Enes Unal penalty denied Atletico the points.

Correa was awarded the goal while sat on the bench. He had fired home on the rebound after a shot was saved, only for the player to get the double-whammy of having the goal disallowed and then being subbed.

But then the video official overturned that decision, awarding the goal, sparking delirium on the touchline, as the Atletico players and coaching staff ran to the bench to celebrate with the winger, who had already put his training jacket on.

"We didn't score the second goal which would leave you calmer, and then gave away a penalty in a situation that was not dangerous. We need to keep improving," Atletico coach Simeone told DAZN.

"We tried in every way. Circumstances are sometimes unpredictable.

"The team had a good initiative. There were circumstances that could benefit us, such as Djene grabbing Morata, small circumstances that have not gone our way lately."
