Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was left non-plussed by their 4-0 defeat to Inter Milan.

La Dea were left frustrated by VAR decisions over the night, including having the lead denied after Charles De Ketelaere goal was ruled out by VAR.

“It degenerated into more of a training session than a game towards the end. I don't even think the third goal would be given in a training session," said Gasperini.

“I had the impression we are in good shape, we did very well in the first half against a strong Inter side. The result is perplexing to anyone who saw the match, but we are ready for the next."

He also said: “I only talk about the referees after I've won. Inter might've won anyway, but at least it would've been a real match.

“It might affect your confidence in us, but it won't affect our own. We played against a great Inter side, in a very anomalous match, there is no time to think negatively. Did you not sense it was anomalous? Maybe it was just me…"
