The Swede, on-loan from Atalanta, has been linked with winter market moves to Wolves and Arsenal this week.

But Lucarelli, while also discussing former Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian, insists Kulusevski will stay for the entire season.

He stated, "At least until the end of the season they stay with us. Kulusevski will talk for himself, he is a born talent. For this reason Atalanta gave him to us for only a dry loan because they knew his qualities well, he is a predestined. He has an incredible maturity, he gives quantity and quality unabated up to the ninetieth.

"The management with Darmian was good at being able to take him, but it's good that they stay until the end because they are fundamental players for us."

Ranieri admits he tried to sign the stopper while in charge of Leicester City.

"I think the world of Gaston, I wanted him when I was at Leicester. I'm sure he'll give us a big hand," he said.

"The lads are regaining confidence but we must continue in this way, so as not to throw away our good work."

Samp meet Atalanta today and Ranieri added: "Our next opponents are very strong. Ilicic is a champion, as is Muriel, but in general [Gian Piero] Gasperini's squad has been built very well and has played together for years. It'll take a good performance to beat them."

The Times says Guardiola is giving serious thought to making this the last season for him in England - and returning to Italy.

Guardiola has past playing experience in the country with Brescia and left the door open to working in Serie A this week as City drew 1-1 at Champions League opponents Atalanta.

"Maybe," he responded to questions about moving to Italy. "It was a pleasure to come to Italy to play, I had a great time in this country but I have to say that now I don't think about it because I'm fine in England, a great championship.

"I'm not that old."

Asked about last summer's talk of contact with Juventus, Guardiola insisted: "You had the wrong information. You have to do your job better."

Claudio Bravo was sent off for City, but the hosts couldn't take advantage.

At the end, we had the conditions to win the game, with them down to 10 men and an outfield player in goal," Gasperini told Sky Sport Italia.

Unfortunately, there was very little football in stoppages and that showed our lack of experience. They took so long over the substitution and then tried to keep it at the corner flag.

Sometimes it happens to us, we need a wake up call and in this case it was the missed penalty, as from there we really did change gear.

We still have a chance in the Champions League, but I would be very happy with a place in the Europa League too, as long as we continue some European experiences and can grow.

Our performance with Shakhtar wasn't bad at all and we could've won that. We could've won tonight too, whereas in Manchester we played in fits and starts. If we can play with consistency, then we can win games at this level.

We struggled in the first half, as City scored early and every time they came forward, they caused problems. The trouble is that sometimes you think you're at your best, but you're not. If you are just a metre behind, these opponents can keep the ball constantly and pin you back.

Manchester City are excellent at going forward, but they struggle at the back. So we had to take some risks, we raised the level of what we thought was the maximum, started to move it quicker, get the ball back, win tackles and in that second half we created more scoring opportunities and played better than Manchester City. We're not dead yet!"
