Aston Villa teen Ben Chrisene pens new deal

Aston Villa teenager Ben Chrisene has signed a new contract at the club.

The highly-regarded 18-year-old made his first-team debut in Villa's FA Cup third-round tie against Liverpool last January, penning a professional contract just days later.

The England Under-17 international spent the first few months of this season on the sidelines but has recently returned to action.

Academy manager Mark Harrison told Villa's website: “We are delighted that Ben has signed a new extended contract with us.

“Since he joined us, Ben has continued to develop and this is just reward for the progression he has made, but also shows the belief and commitment we have in his potential.

“This contract will hopefully give him the platform to work towards that transition of becoming a first-team player.

“But, as like with all young players, this will only be achieved with continued hard work and the right mentality."
