Aston Villa sporting director Monchi has reiterated his aims with the club in the coming years.

The highly rated executive has worked at the likes of Sevilla and Roma in the past.

Monchi admits that it is his mission to help head coach Unai Emery bring in to players.

The goal of both men is to re-establish Aston Villa as a top club in the Premier League and in Europe.

“We play on Wednesday and there is a lot of work pending but come on, if everything goes as I hope, I will return on Carnival Monday, which is a day that I really like to party," Monchi stated of the club's FA Cup replay against Chelsea in midweek to Diario de Cadiz.

“But in Birmingham I'm fine, happy as a sports director, trying to plan Aston Villa, a historic club in England, right now fighting at the top of the table and working hard."
