Arsenal have announced that they will take on New York Red Bulls in a preseason friendly in the USA.
The Gunners will travel to the States to take on the MLS giants at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey on Saturday, July 26 this year.
The match will mark a special event for Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry who is Arsenal's all-time leading goalscorer and the Frenchman was absolutely delighted to be welcoming his beloved north London club to his new home.
"I was obviously over the moon and excited [when I heard about the game]," Henry told Arsenal's official website.
"Not really for me, but for the fans to be able to see Arsenal here and for the guys in the team. To be able to play against Arsenal doesn't happen often and hopefully it's going to be good day.
"Everybody knows how much I love Arsenal. When I found out we were going to have them here to play in New York, for some reason I was doubting it because Arsene (Wenger) was always the guy not wanting to go too far away from Europe until recently, when they've been going to Asia.
"I said to myself, 'Why don't they come to the US?'. They were the only team from the Premier League that didn't come."
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger added: "This will be a great chance to play in front of supporters who have not seen the team play before. The New York Red Bulls will be midway through their season, so they will provide a good test. Obviously it will be good to play against Thierry. He is a very special player in our club's history and I know the players and the supporters will enjoy this very much."
