Former Everton boss Sam Allardyce has taken a new dig at his old club.
Appearing on TalkSPORT, he says the Blues have gone backwards under his replacement.
He said, "There was a lot to be done in recruitment terms and making sure mistakes that were made before I got there weren't repeated. It doesn't look like that has been the case.
"Even though a lot of money has been spent again, there are some good players in some areas but some areas that are still weak.
"They have already lost four games at home and Everton's home record has always been the strength of the team.
"It needs some stability again and they need to get themselves in a reasonable position this season and see where they go from there. It is about respect. It is not about whether you get on well with the players. It is respect you are looking for.
"It is your desire and organisation which earns you the respect of your players.
"When players respect you, they go out and play. They might like him, but they are not playing for him."
