Ajax have successfully hijacked a West Ham United bid for a Manchester City youngster.
The Hammers were hoping to secure Carlos Borges from City on a permanent basis.
However, the 19-year-old winger is now heading to Amsterdam instead, per The Mail and other sources.
Borges is set to fly to the Netherlands to complete his medical and sign a contract.
He will sign a four-year deal at Ajax, having been tempted by their development of young players.
The news is another bitter blow for West Ham, who have struggled to get any transfers over the line.
