Several high profile clubs made enquires about Marseille winger in January, his agent has confirmed.

Thauvin has rebuilt his career with Marseille after an ill-fated short spell with Newcastle United in 2015.

The 29-year-old was part of France's squad for their 2018 World Cup triumph.

And his agent has revealed that a number of big European clubs asked about signing him last month.

"There were talks with Pablo Longoria, the [Marseille] president, then the interest of big clubs like Milan, Atalanta, Rome, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Lyon towards the end," said Ludovic Delechat to TuttoMercatoWeb.

Thauvin scored eight goals in 36 league appearances last season.
