Liverpool have missed out on another key midfield target this summer as their transfer plans hit a huge snag.
The Reds have been beaten to the signature of Southampton teenager Romeo Lavia.
The young midfielder will be signing for Chelsea, as he has rejected a move to the Reds.
Per The Mail, Liverpool did finally have a bid accepted by the Saints this week for Lavia.
However, the midfielder has given his word to Chelsea and will only move there at present.
The Blues have also agreed a fee of around £50 million plus add-ons for the youngster.
