Manchester City U21s won 3-0 at Liverpool this week for their opening game of the season.

Brian Barry-Murphy's side got our defence of the PL2 title we won so convincingly last term, off to a flying start away at Liverpool.

In what was a fine all-round performance against tough opposition, City's Under-21s took an early lead through Adedire Mebude.

Mebude then struck again on the hour as Barry-Murphy's youngsters doubled our advantage.

And an emphatic victory was then confirmed 20 minutes from time as substitute Dan Ogwuru also found the target to round off a perfect start to the new campaign for the City youngsters.
