AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has hit back at Genoa president Alberto Zangrillo over claims of a "murderous act".
Maignan was sent off during Milan's 1-0 win on Saturday for a reckless challenge on Caleb Ekuban and slammed by Zangrillo in the aftermath.
But the Frenchman has since responded on social media: “Zangrillo! Words have meaning.
"What happened yesterday was a gamble, perhaps a deplorable gamble, but in no way was it 'murderous.'
“I wish you the best for the future and hope you will never have to experience what you just accused me of."
