Aberdeen's McInnes, Hearts assistant Brown charged by SFA

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes and Heart of Midlothian assistant Billy Brown have both been charged by the Scottish Football Association after being sent to the stands by referee Alan Muir on the weekend.

Dons boss McInnes and Hearts coach Brown were involved in an ugly touchline dispute as the Jambos won 2-1 at Tynecastle on Saturday and will now have to attend a joint hearing on September 12.

A SFA statement highlighted the charges against Brown: "Disciplinary Rule 203: Misconduct at a match by leaving the technical area in the absence of special circumstances and by adopting an aggressive attitude to a member of the opposing Team Staff."

On McInnes' transgressions, the statement added: "Misconduct at a match by adopting an aggressive attitude to a member of the opposing Team Staff."
