Alberto Zaccheroni accepts he didn't do enough to keep his Juventus job.
Zaccheroni had a disastrous campaign, as he replaced Ciro Ferrara but could only take Juve to seventh place.
He said: "I wouldn't have kept me on either without finishing in the top four. Yet it was already done, the club had asked me to renew the contract.
"The turnaround came when Siena fought back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 and the disaster in London, losing 4-1 to Fulham. At that point, our heads went."
