Wigan assistant manager Graeme Jones admits the players are still getting used to the passing game of new manager Roberto Martinez.
Jones has been integral in helping Martinez get across to the squad his vision for playing football.
Although it has been an eye-opener for players who were well-drilled on being hard to beat under former boss Steve Bruce, Jones believes the message has got through.
"I think initially it was a bit challenging for them and it is still challenging - as it should be," he told Latics Player.
"The old style of play to new style of play is significant in its changes."
