Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is keen on Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan.

The Scotland Under-21 player has 12 months remaining of his current deal. He made his Villa debut in the UEFA Cup tie at Hamburg in December and also had a loan spell at Derby.

It had been reported that Bannan could be included in a deal to sign Wigan's Titus Bramble, but Villa sources insist Bramble is not on O'Neill's radar.
