The wife of Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi has slammed Diego Maradona.

At the World Cup draw in Moscow, Maradona suggested that Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli only called up Inter hitman Icardi because wife – and agent – Wanda was pestering him with phone calls.

Wanda replied via social media with a message on Twitter.

“I'd recommend an anti-doping test in such important events, as there are always people whose minds are fogged up and they try to ruin things with inventions.

“It's an obsession he has with us."

Maradona had famously said that in his day Icardi would've been “given a kicking" in the locker room for marrying the ex-wife of a teammate, in this case Maxi Lopez.
