Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has ruled out a return for Hull City midfielder Jimmy Bullard.

The People says Bullard made his name with the Latics and is looking for a new club as the relegated Tigers try to off-load his £45,000-a-week wages.

But Whelan said: "You can't forget Jimmy - he was a fabulous character. But sign him again? No chance.

"Those kind of wages should not exist at a club like Wigan or Hull."
