West Ham are set to renew their interest in Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho in January despite the ongoing dispute with the Portuguese club, claims the Sun.

Both clubs have been embroiled in a feud over Hammers' pursuit of the midfielder during the summer. The Hammers have blamed Sporting for constantly changing the price of their player, while Sporting claims that the London side never made any offer.

However, despite the ongoing dispute, Hammers still seem to be interested in the Portugal international.

The Sun quotes a Hammers source: "There's a problem between the clubs at the moment but never say never. The board and the manager know a player when they see one.

"The player himself would obviously prefer to be here in the Premier League than over there. So watch for developments."
